10 Gifts For People Who Love to Hike
All of the items I have listed here would make great Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, graduation gifts or just because gifts!
Hiking Pack
Hiking packs are a must have for any hiking trip. Hiking packs allow you to carry around the necessities you need when you are hiking in nature. What are those necessities? Well, here is short list of things that you will often find in a hiking pack:
- Water bottle w/water
- First Aid Kit
- Layering Clothes (in case the weather surprises you)
- Navigation Tools
- Food (granola, nuts, trail mix, etc)
- Flashlight
- Sunglasses
Water Bottle
I really like Hydroflask water bottles because they are great for keeping water cold. There are multiple sizes of Hydroflasks available. With my family, other than the youngest, we all carry 32 ounce bottles with us. They are easy to slip into your hiking pack and I know that I’ll have cold water for the entire trip.
I actually carry my Hydroflask with a sling.
Sunglasses
Everyone loves new sunglasses, right? Sunglasses are imperative to have on a hiking trip to protect the hiker’s eyes so they make wonderful gifts for hikers.
First Aid Kit
First aid kits are imperative for any outdoor adventure, but many of us slack on updated ours when parts of them are used. That’s one of the many reasons that hikers love getting new first aid kits for gifts.
LifeStraw
You never know when emergencies may happen. In the case that a hiker runs out of water, it isn’t safe for them to drink river, lake or stream water. Lifestraws make great gifts because they can quite possibly save a life.
Trekking Poles
Trekking poles are great for hiking on trails that are rocky or uneven. They can help to prevent falls and injuries.
Atomic Bear Paracord Bracelet
This paracord bracelet holds a compass, fire starter, emergency whistle, ferro rod striker and 12 feet of military-grade paracord.
Rechargeable Headlamp
Flashlights, headlamps and other light sources are important tools for hikers. It’s important for a hiker to be able to see if they are stuck out on the trail in the dark.
Bear Spray
If the hiker in your life likes to hike in an area where there are bears and other wildlife, bear spray is an important thing for them to have.
Wool Hiking Socks
Socks are always a great gift idea and wool socks like these are great for hiking, so naturally they make a great gift for the hiker in your life.
