9 Easy Make Ahead Camping Breakfast Recipe Ideas
Are you headed out on your next camping trip soon? For this trip, why not try something that will help ease your stress while you are enjoying the great outdoors? On all of our camping trips, I bring alone make-ahead meals for the whole family. Our favorite make ahead meals are various breakfast meals.
Camping is so much easier when you don’t have to stress about 3 meals each day like you do at home. Camping for me is a vacation. I don’t know about you, but when I’m on vacation, I don’t like to have to stress about meals three times per day like I do at home. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind preparing food on vacation, but I like to be able to skip a meal or two. Breakfast is of course, the most important meal of the day, so we can’t go without even if I don’t feel like cooking!
9 Easy Make Ahead Camping Breakfast Recipe Ideas
I love cooking while camping, however, sometimes a grab and go quick breakfast is the way to go. Sometimes it’s nice to spend less time cooking, don’t you agree? Here are some of my favorite camping breakfast ideas:
Overnight Oats
If you are an oatmeal fan, overnight oats are a great option for an easy, make ahead breakfast to take along with you on your next camping trip.
French Toast Casserole
I recently made french toast casserole for the first time and oh my goodness, my family loved it! I will definitely be making it for our next camping trip because it was super easy to make and easy to cut up and enjoy.
Sheet Pan Pancakes
Once I made sheet pan pancakes for the first time, I very rarely make them the old fashioned way. While regular pancakes are pretty easy to make, this is by far the easiest way to cook pancakes. It’s also a great way to make premade camping meals for a large group!
I like to bring individual containers of maple syrup so that the pancakes can be carefully dipped into syrup without the mess.
Scrambled Egg Muffins
Eggs are a great way to start your day! Full of protein and easy to eat on the go, these scrambled egg muffins are a great meal to add into your list of great make ahead breakfast recipes for camping.
Peanut Butter Banana Muffins
Do you have a family that likes muffins for breakfast? My boys love to eat muffins for breakfast so these Peanut Butter Banana Muffins make a great option for us when it comes to make- ahead breakfast meals for our camping trips.
Hard-Boiled Eggs
While I love all of the other delicious recipes on this list, it really isn’t required to eat well at camp. It doesn’t get much easier than hard boiled eggs. Protein packed and easy to take on the go, boiled eggs are a great option for a quick simple breakfast, lunch or snack. What do you think is the perfect way to hard boil eggs?
Tex Mex Breakfast Sandwich
This easy recipe for a Tex Mex Breakfast Sandwich is delicious when freshly made and they are even better when made ahead. The key to keeping these sandwiches fresh is to wrap them in parchment paper and then wrap them again in aluminum foil.
Breakfast Burritos
Breakfast burritos are a favorite meal around our house and I find them to be one of the best easy camping recipes for our family! I always make breakfast burritos out of potatoes, eggs and sausage. I make up a big batch of mixture and wrap them up in tortillas stored in freezer bags to be enjoyed as a hearty breakfast over the next couple of days.
Granola Bars
if you are really wanting to save time cooking, granola bars are an easy breakfast to pack along with you. Of course, I’d suggest finding bars with a decent protein count, but when you are hungry, any of them will do.

Camping Kitchen Essentials
Whatever you decide to pack along with you on your trip, be sure that you pack up the right camping kitchen essentials to make serving and enjoying these yummy camping meals easier. Here are some of my favorite tools and supplies to keep on hand:
Mason Jars
Mason jars are great for storing overnight oats, fresh berries, fresh fruit, mason jar parfaits and so much more. I love using mason jars for all kinds of food storage, so it makes perfect sense that I would use them while camping too.
Plastic Bag Assortment
I tend to use a lot of snack bags, sandwich bags and freezer bags. I like to keep the assortment ready for camping as well. They are great for keeping ingredients separate, not only in the cooler, but also in the bags or totes that hold the dry foods.
Tin Foil
Aluminum foil is a must have in any kitchen environment, camping kitchens are not excluded.
Camp Stove
I personally love to cook with a Blackstone griddle while camping, but as long as you have some sort of camp stove or way of cooking, you’ll be all set!
Cast Iron Skillet
A cast-iron skillet is another must have for any kitchen and they are the only frying pan that I will use over an open fire. I don’t like using other cookware that has chemicals that I worry about coming out at the high heat levels of camp cooking.
