Free Camping Planner and Printable Camping Food List for the Best Trip Ever
Are you counting down the days until your next camping trip?! Me too! We are always looking for awesome adventures on a budget, so we love camping. There is simply no other way to experience so much fun without breaking the bank. Let’s face it though, camping does not always go smoothly. We have had what some might call epic failure trips in the past, but even those trips are some of our favorite family memories. My favorite ever camping advice is this, the more organized you are, the better your trip will be.
I have created this free printable camping food list for you to ensure that the whole family has the best trip ever! I will also be including a list of camping essentials too! With these lists on hand, you can be sure that you will have everything you need whether you are heading out on a weekend camping trip or if you are planning to stay gone even longer! As long as you remember the most important things, your trip can go more smoothly.
This Camping Checklist Will Help Your Fun-Filled Camping Trip Get Off to a Great Start
At the bottom of this post, I will be attaching a free printable PDF camping list packet, but let’s talk a little bit about what you should be bringing to the campsite with you first. Whether this is your first time camping or you are an old pro, a checklist can still help you remember everything you need for your trip. Let’s face it, we all forget things sometimes, right?

Here are some of the food supplies that we have found get used most often while camping:

- Crackers
- Cheese strings
- Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- Quick Oats
- Instant Coffee
- Pancake Mix
- Maple Syrup

While our camping meals always change a little bit from trip to trip, these are the items that I shop for at the grocery store before our trips.
Essentials Needed for Your Camp Kitchen
Also, don’t forget all of the tools and supplies you need to cook said food!
- Camp stove, grill, bbq, etc (we love bringing our Blackstone Griddle with us on camping trips)
- Kitchen tools
- Spatulas and other cooking utensils
- Eating utensils and dishes
- Aluminum foil
- An ice pack or ice for the cooler
- Large container of water (or many smaller bottles of water)
- Re-useable water bottles
Camping Gear Packing List
Now that you have your food packed up and ready to go, let’s move on to the non-food items that you are going to need for your camping trip:
- Tent
- Sleeping bags
- Pillows
- Extra Clothes
- Swimsuits (for summer)
- Layering clothes (for cooler months)
- Air mattress
- Camp chairs
- Firewood
- Hatchet for cutting firewood
- Newspaper or firestarter
- Matches or a lighter
- Plastic garbage bags (for bringing home wet or dirty laundry)
- Cards, dice, board games
- First aid kit
- Sunscreen
- Toiletries
Obviously, these are just general ideas for camping gear, food, and supplies, but I have found these to be our go-to’s when it comes to creating the most fun, successful camping trip.
Even if you are the type to keep your camping gear in one location packed up and ready to go all the time, it’s a good idea to double-check your gear before each trip to make sure nothing has gotten left behind.
