Head to the Small Town for Big Fun in Falls City, Oregon!
Nestled into the foothills of the coastal range mountains is the tiny town of Falls City, Oregon. This town of roughly 1000 people actually began its life as a mill town supporting the timber industry of the mountains surrounding it. While the mill is no longer here, you can still find a small town with big personality! Here are just some of the things that you can find to do in this quaint town.
Grab a Delicious Treat at The Locally Famous Artisan Bakery
The Bread Board has been in business for well over a decade, starting out as a staple at local farmers markets. They now run a bakery/restaurant out of a building in downtown Falls City and it certainly draws a crowd! You can often find the town streets lined with cars whose owners are enjoying a fresh oven fired pizza or one of their delicious loaves of sourdough bread. Another popular item is their mouth watering scones.
Head to the Boondocks for an Award Winning Steak
The Boondocks Bar and Grill can make a mean steak and that is no lie! This restaurant has been voted one of the top steaks in the mid valley several times!
Go for a Swim at Falls City’s Falls
In case you were wondering about the town name, yes, there are falls here! The “falls” is a popular swimming hole which draws swimmers from all around! There are rocks that serve as jumping platforms in several heights around the pool at the bottom of the falls. On cooler days, it’s fun to walk down and simply enjoy nature’s stunning view.
The Little Luckiamute River meanders through all of town, so be sure and check it out along the walk bridges in town as well. The falls isn’t the only pretty view.
Grab Your Bike
Just above town a few miles into the mountains, you’ll find the Black Rock Mountain Bike Park, which is a very popular destination for mountain bikers! There are over 500 acres of forested area turned trails ranging from easy to expert only for cyclists to get a thrill on!
Rent an AirBnB in Falls City Oregon!
Falls City is home to one of Oregon’s “guest favorite” AirBnB experiences! It’s a cute tiny home farm stay located on a farm that is home to a real, working blacksmith shop! It’s not the only AirBnB in town though, there are actually two Falls City stays listed on AirBnB.
