Our Visit to Salishan Coastal Lodge on the Oregon Coast
For our 25th anniversary last month, we chose to spend it at Salishan Resort outside of Lincoln City, Oregon. Well, my friends this resort is definitely worth a visit! It was just what we were looking for to spend a night away. I will fully admit that we didn’t take advantage of everything that this lodge had to offer, but I am happy to share our thoughts on the parts of the resort that we enjoyed and what I plan to try next time we go!
Salishan is a great place whether you are looking for a place to go for a romantic night away or a place to stay for those weekend getaways with the whole family. We happened to be there at the same time as a corporate retreat was happening and I thought to myself, what a great place to have an office retreat!

Where is Salishan Coastal Lodge?
Salishan is located in Gleneden Beach Oregon which is just south of Lincoln City. It’s a great location right across 101 from the bay.
What Kind of Rooms at Available at This Resort?
For the most part, you’ll find that Salishan offers traditional rooms. You’ll find rooms with king-size beds, family rooms, or double queen rooms. Wondering what you will find in your room? Read on:
Each of the guest rooms has the following:
- Private Bathroom
- Private Balcony
- Gas Fireplace
- Refrigerator
- Floor to Ceiling Windows
- Black Out Curtains

You can request rooms with views of the golf course, or you can request rooms with views of Siletz Bay. We have stayed at Salishan twice and we have had the benefit of experiencing both views.
While I truly loved the view of Siletz Bay, we also quite enjoyed the view of the golf course. I don’t think I could really recommend either one, because they were both great!

Our Thoughts on Salishan
We absolutely loved our stay at Salishan, both times that we stayed there. With the extensive amount of fun outdoor activities and the relaxing nature of this luxury resort, I truly had an amazing time.
Here are some of our favorite parts of this resort:
Friendly Staff
I thought that the staff at Salishan was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and make suggestions. On the day we arrived for our anniversary date, there was some sort of laundry issue so while we requested a bay view room, we ended up with a golf course view room. The helpful staff was very apologetic to us and went out of their way to make sure we got into the best room possible.
Private Balconies
We love the private balconies at this resort. I am not exaggerating at all when I say that we spent 4+ hours on the balcony rocking in our chairs while enjoying some local wine, visiting with one another, and enjoying the view (we had a view of the driving range and the pond). It was a very peaceful and relaxing experience.
We aren’t golfers so I wasn’t expecting great things with the golf course views, but it really was great.
Dining Options
We enjoyed dinner and drinks at the attic lounge which is located upstairs in the main lodge. This restaurant has a great selection of allergy-friendly foods. I have a gluten allergy and I often avoid eating at restaurants in order to avoid being “glutened.” This restaurant takes allergies very seriously and has some great meal options available! I also noticed a lot of vegan options as well. I ordered these delicious gluten-free fish tacos.
They also had a good selection of non-allergy, non-vegan food. My husband loved his chicken sandwich.
While it wasn’t the case while we were there, they often have live entertainment at this lounge as well.
Private Parking
Each room as a private, covered parking area which is great when you run into those rain showers that the Oregon coast is so well known for.
Our Complaints About This Resort
Honestly, the one and only complaint that we had about this resort is that during our last visit, there was a very loud, drunk group of people in the room above us until the early hours of the morning. It is obviously not the fault of the resort and we made no complaints, but that was the only thing we could have done without.
